Enrolment at Maungaraki School
Maungaraki School has an Enrolment Scheme in place. All students who live within the Home Zone shall be entitled to enrol at the school. Please check out the enrolment zone details before completing an enrolment form.
New Entrants Starting School
Children can start school on or after their 5th Birthday and need to start school before turning 6 years old. At Maungaraki school we have a Cohort Entry policy which means new entrants start school in cohorts or groups after they have
turned five.
There are entry points each term. One on the first day of each term and one at the midpoint of the term (as set by the Ministry of Education). We hold up to 3 'transition to school visits' per cohort before a new entrant student starts school.
Transition to School Visits for New Entrants
We will send you a letter approximately 6 weeks before your child starts school outlining their start date and the transition to school visit dates. You are welcome to come into the class to settle your child into the classroom environment anytime between 8:30am and 8:55am on the day. The bell will go at 8:55am and all parents are requested to leave the classroom. Visits are between 8:55am and 10:30am and you can collect your child from the classroom at 10:30am.

Join us for an introductory presentation to inform new and prospective parents about the Junior School programs run at Maungaraki School.

Transferring from Another School
Students transferring from another school can start at any time during the year as agreed by the school. Please complete the online enrolment process as outlined below. Then make contact with the school office so we can discuss the start date. Families are welcome to visit the school before their start date.
