Information for Prospective Students

Maungaraki School is a medium sized primary school for children from ages 5 to 12, established in September, 1967. It is situated just a few minutes from the heart of Lower Hutt City. In April 1999 Maungaraki School opened on the Puketiro School site combining two local schools.  Currently we have eleven classrooms and around 270 children. Children begin school at five years and leave at the end of their eighth year to then attend a variety of secondary schools in the Lower Hutt area. Predominantly our children attend Hutt Valley High School.

All International Students are placed in a class according to their age. They get help and support from their class teacher as well as a specialist ESOL teacher.
