New Face at Maungaraki School
The Petone & Harbour Ward Herald – 29th November 2006

Although originally scheduled to begin her job at the beginning of the 2007 schoool year, Maungaraki School's new principal decided instead to follow the school's tradition and begin earlier.

Having been teaching 26 years- most recently in Whitby - Ms Jennings is currently in her first role as principal. "I was supposed to start in Januray, but I thought I'd stick with the tradition set by the past two principals - like them, I started at the beginning of term 4," she said. "before this I was acting principal at Adventure School, which gave me an opportunity to see what being a principal was about."

Ms Jennings instantly developed a great relationship with pupils, parents and colleagues.
"I love my job. The people are supportive and caring."

She says her main objective as principal is to create an environment that is safe, secure and fun so children can reach their full potential.

"I love teaching; working with people and working with children", she said.
