Maungaraki School

Mural

Maungaraki School was one of two lucky Hutt Valley schools, that received sponsorship from the Hutt City Council to have a mural painted at no expense to the school including the time of local artist Dan Mills.

Dan worked with a group of 13 students who had been identified by the staff as having artist ability.  The group designed the mural with Dan, incorporating the school's house system (Takehe, Morepork, Kakapo and Pukeko)  the syndicate trees (kowhai, rata, nikau and totara), and the schools values and vision statement.  The end result shows the great work of our students which provides a colourful welcome to our school grounds.

Thank you Dan Mills and the Hutt City Council for sponsoring and working on this project with the school.
